I may have mentioned this previously, but I'm building a robot. It's for "professional development" and I call it YardBot. I hope to be able to add attachments and have it plow my driveway and do yard work for the yard I don't have yet.
Anyways, tonight I worked on revising my snow plow design. I'm trying to use 2 linear actuators to provide up/down left/right mobility like a standard plow. Packaging was tough but with the actuators' 2in motion, I think it works OK (at least in the computer).
No timeline yet on construction, as my company is still building out facilities but I hope that even a 3D model will help out.

Neat. We can test it in my yard.

Sort of like this?

Ha, yeah, I thought it would be that one. I'm not really the first to make something like this, but like driving a fun car, it's more about the journey than the destination (but it'll be awesome if/when I have something to show for it).

Is this for a university project or something else? Either way quality work!

I'm a few years out of university but the long and short of it is that I currently work in software but want to work in robotics. I'm a mechanical engineer so this project is sort of part of my portfolio to get into that industry.

Gotcha. Robotics is a lot of fun- I did FIRST in High School. There are a ton of different things you can do with it. Good luck!

Put a small shovel on the back for reverse shoveling...... No need to turn around. :0)
